Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) governs your conduct on the Service. It forms part of the Terms of Service and binds anyone who accesses the Service, including your authorised users and any person acting on your behalf. Violating the AUP is a material breach.

You must use the Service only for lawful purposes, in accordance with these Terms, our Documentation, all applicable laws and regulations of the jurisdictions in which you, your users, and the subject of your analysis are located, and in good faith.

You must not use the Service to create, store, or transmit content that:

• is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, obscene, or violent;
• infringes intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights;
• contains malware, spyware, or any code intended to disrupt other systems;
• harasses, threatens, stalks, or incites violence against any person or protected group;
• sexually exploits minors or depicts minors in any sexualised context (we will report to law enforcement);
• promotes terrorism, organised crime, the manufacture of weapons of mass destruction, or human trafficking; or
• violates export-control or sanctions law.

You must not use the Service, Reports, or AI Outputs, in whole or in part:

• Housing.To deny, condition, price, advertise, or otherwise affect access to housing or related services in a manner that would violate the U.S. Fair Housing Act, the UK Equality Act 2010, the EU Race Equality Directive (2000/43/EC) or Gender Goods & Services Directive (2004/113/EC), the Turkish Equality Law, or any comparable law. No redlining, blockbusting, or steering.
• Credit, lending, insurance. To underwrite, score, price, or otherwise affect access to credit, loans, insurance, or financial services in a manner that would violate the U.S. Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the EU Consumer Credit Directive (2023/2225) and AI Act Annex III, or analogous law.
• Employment. To screen, rank, select, or otherwise affect candidates or employees in a manner that would violate Title VII of the U.S. Civil Rights Act, the EU Employment Equality Directive (2000/78/EC), the UK Equality Act, the Turkish Labour Law, or analogous law.
• Public benefits and essential services. To allocate, deny, or prioritise access to government benefits, healthcare, education, or essential public services on the basis of protected characteristics.
• Profiling identifiable persons. To draw inferences about specific, identifiable individuals from neighbourhood-level analyses (e.g. concluding that an applicant has a particular ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or political opinion because their address falls within an area our AI characterised in some way).
• EU AI Act prohibited and high-risk practices. For biometric categorisation by sensitive attributes, social scoring, predictive policing of individuals, emotion recognition in workplaces or schools, or any other practice prohibited by Article 5 of the EU AI Act (Regulation 2024/1689); and not in any high-risk use case under Article 6/Annex III unless you have independently obtained the conformity assessments, fundamental-rights impact assessments, and other obligations the AI Act imposes on deployers.
• Surveillance. To track, monitor, or identify the movements, activities, or relationships of any natural person.
• Disinformation and manipulation. To generate or amplify deceptive, misleading, or manipulative content about places, businesses, or communities.

Breach of this Section is incurable. We will terminate Accounts immediately, retain no obligation to refund, may notify regulators where required, and will indemnify ourselves from your indemnity under Section 22 of the Terms.

You must not, and must not permit anyone to:

• scrape, harvest, crawl, spider, or extract data from the Service except through features we explicitly expose for that purpose;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, models, algorithms, or training data of the Service, except to the extent local law expressly permits notwithstanding such restriction;
• circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access control, rate limit, quota, watermark, or anti-abuse mechanism;
• probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related infrastructure without our prior written permission (responsible reports to abuse@poigeo.app are welcome under our vulnerability disclosure framework);
• use the Service to mine cryptocurrencies, train competing machine-learning models, or otherwise consume disproportionate resources;
• launch denial-of-service attacks, send unsolicited communications, or otherwise interfere with the Service or other users; or
• introduce malware, ransomware, or other harmful code into the Service or its users.

You must not:

• create multiple Accounts to evade free-trial limits, plan quotas, suspensions, or terminations;
• buy, sell, transfer, sublicense, or rent Accounts, credentials, or seats outside the seat-management mechanism of your plan;
• impersonate another person, misrepresent your affiliation, or use false identity documents in support correspondence;
• share credentials or session tokens between unrelated users; or
• use the Service after we have suspended or terminated your access.

We may detect and prevent the above with reasonable anti-abuse measures, including IP and browser-fingerprint hashing (described in the Privacy Policy).

You must not:

• sell, sublicense, redistribute, or publish Reports or AI Outputs as a standalone product, in a database, or as part of a competing service;
• use Reports or AI Outputs to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or benchmark a competing machine-learning model or product;
• represent AI Outputs as the result of human professional judgement (e.g. as the work product of a licensed appraiser, surveyor, lawyer, or financial advisor);
• remove or alter watermarks, attributions, source notices, or disclaimers we include in Reports;
• edit Reports in a manner that materially misrepresents their content or our brand; or
• use Reports for any purpose prohibited by Section 4 above.

Reports may incorporate Third-Party Data that carries its own licence terms (for example, the Open Data Commons Open Database Licence for OpenStreetMap, the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service, or the Foursquare data licence). Where third-party terms apply to your use of Reports, you must comply with them in addition to this AUP. We may publish attribution requirements alongside Reports; do not remove them.

If you believe someone is using the Service in violation of this AUP, please email abuse@poigeo.app with as much detail as possible. We treat all reports confidentially.

We may investigate suspected violations and may, at our discretion and without notice, (i) issue a warning, (ii) restrict features, (iii) suspend or terminate the Account, (iv) delete offending content, (v) cooperate with law enforcement, and (vi) preserve relevant logs and metadata to defend ourselves or comply with law. We may publish aggregate, anonymised statistics about enforcement actions.
