United States (Federal & State) Supplement

Our Service is consumer-direction location intelligence; it is not subject to the financial-services (GLBA), health-care (HIPAA), or education-records (FERPA) regimes. We comply with the Federal Trade Commission Act §5 prohibition on unfair or deceptive practices: our statements about data handling are accurate and we honour them.

A growing number of U.S. states have enacted consumer privacy laws — including Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon (OCPA), Montana (MCDPA), Iowa (ICDPA), Tennessee (TIPA), Indiana (ICDPA), New Jersey, Delaware, New Hampshire, Maryland, Minnesota, and Rhode Island. Most of these statutes apply only to controllers processing personal data of a specified threshold of state residents (typically 100,000 consumers or 25,000 with revenue from selling data) per year.

We do not currently meet any of these state thresholds. Where you reside in a state listed above, we nevertheless honour the substantive rights granted by your state law as if it applied — namely the right to access, correct, delete, port, and opt out of (i) targeted advertising, (ii) sale of personal data, and (iii) profiling for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. We do not engage in (i)–(iii) and have nothing to opt out of.

The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact privacy@poigeo.app and we will delete it without delay.

Marketing email — if any — will identify itself as such, include our postal address, and provide a working unsubscribe link. Transactional email (receipts, security alerts, account changes) is not subject to opt-out under CAN-SPAM but you may deactivate your account to stop receiving it.

We are not a financial institution covered by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA, and not an educational agency or institution under FERPA. If you intend to upload information regulated by any of these regimes, do not do so — our Acceptable Use Policy prohibits it.

We do not provide government agencies with bulk or warrantless access to user data. We require legally valid process for any request — typically a subpoena, court order, or warrant issued under U.S. or applicable foreign law — and we challenge process that is overbroad or improperly served. Where lawful, we notify affected users in advance so they may seek a protective order.
